3D Printing Studio Usage Restrictions
3D printing is available Monday–Friday during normal office hours only.
No 3D printing is permitted on weekends.
Users may operate no more than two (2) 3D printers at a time.
No prints may run after hours.
Prints longer than 13 hours must be paused at closing time and resumed when the studio reopens.
No walk-ins are permitted. All print jobs must be submitted through the official 3D printing request form.
Student & faculty requests have precedence over personal staff prints.
Usage statistics must be submitted for every 3D printing job.
Print Guidelines and Limitations:
Prints should be designed to complete in 8 hours or less.
Lengthy print projects must have special arrangements made for pausing, resuming, and blocking off a printer for multiple days if required.
Prints must not violate copyright or trademark law.
Items produced using University-owned 3D printers may not be sold or used for commercial purposes.
The following items are strictly prohibited:
Edged or cutting devices, including blades.
Firearms, weapons, or weapon components (including replicas, prototypes, or accessories).
Objects containing offensive, inappropriate, or adult content.
Prints that are unlikely to succeed or may result in excessive filament waste or damage to equipment.
All print requests are subject to approval and scheduling by Creative Studios staff.
